Karen Petrovich was raised in Pennsylvania where she showed horses and graduated from farrier school at Penn State University. A move to Kansas in 1973 began a career in bull and bareback bronc riding in the Girls Rodeo Association (GRA). From there Karen moved to Cody, Wyoming and lived there for 30 years working on ranches for the U. S. Forest Service as a back-country mounted ranger in law enforcement. Karen’s art career started in 2003, and she credits artist Mike Poulsen of Cody for getting her to do something with her art. Karen has studied with William Scott Jennings, Skip Whitcomb, Phil Starke and the late Joe Abbrescia.
