Heather Johnson Beary | Arizona

Heather Johnson Beary is an award-winning sculptor from Prescott, Arizona. She was raised in Central Florida where she roamed the cypress swamps and palmetto forests, forging a life-long love of the simple tranquility provided by the natural world. Heather started creating notable works of art at a very young age, selling her first drawing at age 13. Upon earning her BA from the University of Toledo she moved to Prescott, Arizona and fell in love with all things Southwest, from the flora and fauna to the Native American and pioneer influences of the people inhabiting the region.

Her work is directly inspired by the rugged freedom this wild country still holds, as she strives to incorporate a visceral sense of the American West in all of her art. Along with creating smaller works for private homes, Heather has been commissioned by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the Salvation Army, the City of Prescott, the United States Federal Government, and the Prime Minister of Bahrain to create public, monumental bronze sculptures. Heather is currently the only woman to have a commissioned public sculpture in downtown Prescott, Arizona. Her work is in collections all over the United States as well as in Canada, Australia, England, France, Scotland, Bahrain, Singapore, Jakarta, and the British Virgin Islands.
