Michelle Delaney is the Assistant Director, History and Culture at the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. She is the author and editor for several history of photography books, including Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Warrior: A Photographic History by Gertrude Käsebier, The Scurlock Studio and Black Washington: Picturing the Promise, Smithsonian Civil War: Inside the National Collection, and in 2019, Smithsonian American Women’s History 100. Her visit is made possible through Desert Caballeros Western Museum’s status as a Smithsonian Affiliate institution.
