Arizona Wildlife Presentation
Arizona Game and Fish at the DCWM
On Saturday, August 16, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum invites the public to a fascinating in-person program led by Nancy Kreuder, Wildlife Education Outreach Coordinator with the Arizona Game and Fish Department. As part of the Department’s Urban Wildlife initiative, this engaging presentation highlights how to live respectfully—and safely—alongside the diverse wild neighbors that call our desert landscape home.
In a 45-minute slide presentation, Kreuder will share expert insights on some of Arizona’s most frequently asked wildlife questions: What animals pose real danger? How can you keep javelinas, coyotes, or bobcats out of your yard? And what are the best practices to avoid conflict with snakes and other native creatures? With years of outreach experience, Kreuder offers practical, straightforward advice for those living near natural desert areas, where wildlife sightings are a regular part of life.
Adding to the experience, guests will have the chance to meet a few of the Department’s animal ambassadors—live desert animals presented in a safe, educational setting. While we can’t confirm which species will be joining us at the Cultural Crossroads Learning Center, these appearances offer a rare opportunity to observe native wildlife up close. A short Q&A session will follow the program, where attendees can ask questions and learn more about resources for responsible wildlife stewardship.
Arizona Game and Fish, headquartered in Phoenix, works statewide to protect the state’s unique biodiversity. This free public presentation is included with paid Museum admission. As always, children 17 and under and DCWM members receive free admission. Space is limited, so plan to arrive early. For more information, call (928) 684-2272 during business hours.
