In 2005, Desert Caballeros Western Museum embraced a revolutionary idea: an annual exhibition showcasing the brightest contemporary female artists working in the Western genre. In the male-dominated world of Western Art, Cowgirl Up! turned the spotlight squarely on women’s voices and perspectives, serving up a new, deeper understanding of the American West. Your purchase of original artworks supports the endeavors of women artists working today and of the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. CU! art can be bought throughout the run of the exhibition at the Museum or online.

Mother’s Day at the Museum
On Sunday, May 11, the Museum invites everyone to celebrate Mother’s Day. Beginning at 11 a.m., visitors can participate in a Hershey’s Kiss craft activity suitable for all ages; ask for details at the front desk. As a special treat, mothers receive free admission all day. Activity is free with Museum admissions. Kids 17 and under are always free with an adult. AAA, senior and military discounts apply.
