Discover the Magic of Cyanotype Printmaking!

Sep 13, 2025

Live Demonstration at the DCWM's Learning Center

Step into the blue! Join, Gabriele Bitter, for a visually captivating cyanotype printmaking demo, and experience one of the oldest photographic processes in a whole new light. Using sunlight, water, and a bit of artistic alchemy, cyanotypes produce those iconic deep blue images that have fascinated artists and photographers since the 19th century. In this demo, I will show you through the process—from coating paper with light-sensitive solution to creating striking botanical prints and layered compositions using natural objects, transparencies, and stencils.

Whether you’re an art lover, a history buff, or someone who just loves watching creativity in action, this is a chance to: • Learn how cyanotypes work (no darkroom needed!) • See unique, one-of-a-kind artworks come to life in minutes • Ask questions and get inspired to try it yourself.

This is not just a demo—it’s a doorway into an enchanting blend of science, sunlight, and art. 🗓 Date: September, 13th, 2025 🕓 Time: 11 am – 1 pm 📍Location: Desert Caballeros Western Museum
