Dorothy and Emerson Ami Trunk Show

Saturday, January 11, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum invites you to an inspiring day of art and tradition featuring the work of renowned Hopi-Tewa artists Dorothy and Emerson Ami. Known for their exquisite pottery, the Amis bring the beauty and heritage of Hopi artistry to life through their intricate designs and masterful techniques.
The day begins with a special Members’ Preview of the Dorothy and Emerson Ami Trunk Show from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Cultural Crossroads Learning Center (CCLC). The Trunk Show will then open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a chance to view and purchase stunning pottery pieces directly from these talented artists.
At 11 a.m., head to the staff parking lot for a live pottery firing, followed by a fascinating lecture and pottery demonstration at 12:30 p.m. back in the CCLC. The day concludes with the much-anticipated pottery firing reveal at 3 p.m., giving attendees a firsthand look at the transformation that happens in the kiln.
