Soul of the Desert: Art by Local Students
Cultural Crossroad Learning Center
A small sample of the “Soul of the Desert” student work.
The Desert Caballeros Western Museum (DCWM) is pleased to present the Soul of the Desert student exhibition, funded by a donation from Cox Charities. With the collaboration of local schools, students in 4th grade through 12th grade were asked to submit artwork centered around the following question:
“What does the soul of the Arizona desert mean to you?”
DCWM is proud to showcase the unique Western perspective of the youth in Wickenburg and surrounding rural communities. Community involvement is at the forefront of DCWM’s outreach; one goal is to break down barriers surrounding museums. We are committed to providing fun educational programming each year by introducing programs that meet youth where they are.
Museum visitors are encouraged to vote on their favorite artwork, and the student with the most votes will be announced after the exhibition closes on Sunday, July 20th, 2025.
This exhibition was open to all Wickenburg area schools. We are grateful for the following participants: Wickenburg Christian Academy, Quite Write, Mountainside High School, and Gospel Outreach school.
