The Dita and John Daub Western Women’s Art Collection at the DCWM

About Dita and John Daub and the Collection

For many years, Dita and John Daub have been resolute supporters of the Museum with their time, talents and treasures. They made lead gifts to both the Riding for the Brand and A New Frontier capital campaigns, with the present goal of constructing a new art museum building. John has served as a chairman of the board of trustees (2011-2013) and Dita has been a longtime member of the acquisition committee.

Most recently, they pledged an additional $1,000,000 to enable the Museum to acquire the works of early Western women artists. These acquisitions, along with our already strong collection of contemporary Western women artists acquired through Cowgirl Up!, will place the Museum at the very top of preeminent Western art collections by women. This gift is truly transformational for the Museum.

In recognition of the Daubs unwavering dedication to the Museum, the board of trustees created the Dita and John Daub Curator of Western Women’s Art. The conferral of the title is a wonderful way to honor them for their many years of stewardship to the Museum. The Museum’s curator, Dr.Tricia Loscher, Ph.D., will now hold the titles of Chief Curator and the inaugural Dita and John Daub Curator of Western Women’s Art.
