Cecilia McGuire
I moved to Los Angeles, CA with a degree in Commercial Art from Stockholm, Sweden. Relocated to Arizona where I attended watercolor and acrylic painting classes at Yavapai College in Prescott where I received awards in painting at local art galleries. In 2016 I fulfilled a longtime desire to become a sculptor and have completed ten bronze sculptures since. I am a juried artist with the Wickenburg Art Club where I have received many awards, including Artist of The Year twice in sculpture. In 2018, I was juried into the 44th Annual Phippen Western Art Show & Sale in Painting and Sculpture, and was honored to receive The Phippen Foundation Award for my bronze sculpture “In Trouble”. In 2020, I was excited to receive 1st Place Award in Sculpture for my bronze “Saved from The Storm” at the 46th Annual Phippen Western Art Show and Sale in Prescott, Arizona. In 2022, I was proud to receive The Phippen Family Award for my bronze “Moment of Praise” at the 48th Annual Phippen Western Art Show & Sale. This piece is by far my most favorite sculpture. In 2024 all 10 of my bronzes were displayed at the 50th Annual Phippen Western Art Show & Sale. I fulfilled my childhood dream of having horses when I moved to Arizona. My love for the Western lifestyle inspires me to create art of horses, cowboys, and landscapes of the West. I am now residing in Hillside, Arizona close to family.
