From early on her painting career, Christine Debrosky has been enthralled with the effects of light dancing across the landscape as subject. It was after seeing Joaquin Sorolla’s epic mural paintings in NY’s Hispanic society museum, she knew that capturing the glow would be a lifetime pursuit. Since then, her luminous landscape paintings have earned her signature membership with the American Impressionist Society and several other national groups, as well as Master Circle with the International Assn. of Pastel Societies. Christine has exhibited in numerous galleries and invitational venues across the US, Italy and St. Petersburg Russia, and several times in France. In 2013 she was one of 10 American artists asked to show with the prestigious Societe des Pastellistes de France, and further honored by having her Sedona, AZ inspired painting featured on the poster, invitations and billboards across France. Wanting to share her experience and knowledge, she has taught for over 30 years in workshops across the US, as well as Venice and Tuscany, Italy, and Burgundy, France. She has earned inclusion in Who’s Who in American Art for several editions, as well as many books on painting, and in SouthWestArt, PleinAir, The Pastel Journal, and Pratique des Artes magazines. In 2008, pursuing a dream, she relocated to Arizona with husband Wayne. Here, in the high desert surroundings of azure skies, colorful earth, and of course, the dazzling sunshine inspires continued learning and sharing of the wonders of the Southwest.
