Eliza Hoffman
Art has always been Eliza’s passion. Her talents were apparent at a young age, as she was able to pick up on techniques through observing her grandfather, who was also an artist. Through the mentorship of Ms. Betsy Miller from Colors of the Heart Studio in Friendswood, Texas, Eliza learned about the basic fundamentals. Her love of art became stronger by competing in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) school art competition. Eliza’s artwork was selected for auction several times at HLSR, where she received the “Reserve Grand Champion” award in 2023 and the “Grand Champion” award in 2024. Through HLSR, she was granted a scholarship to attend the Western Art Academy (WAA) in Kerrville, Texas, in 2021. At WAA, Eliza discovered her love for oil painting. Since then, it has become her primary medium. Eliza has participated in several events through the Oil Painters of America, including the 2022-2025 Western Regional Exhibitions, the 2023-2025 annual Student Art Competition, and their 2025 National Exhibition. In the summer of 2024, she was selected by Southwest Art Magazine to be included in their 2024 “21 Under 31” feature. This past year, Eliza was a part of the 42nd Annual roundup at the Museum of Western Art, and she will be a part of their 43rd Annual Roundup this Spring. Eliza currently attends the University of Texas at Austin, where she is majoring in Mathematics and Biology. She continues to paint and improve her skills in pursuit of becoming a working artist.
