Jessica Garrett has been an artist since she was a toddler – drawing at the early age of three – she never stopped. Drawing grew into painting and in 2005 she was awarded a merit scholarship from Scottsdale Artists’ School where she took a workshop with artist R.A. Heichberger, and another with Chris Saper. She has also taken some college art, and strives to continually grow, still taking workshops from artists such as Kevin Macpherson, Tim Deibler, Skip Whitcomb, and Jerry Salinas.
Jessica has had numerous one person shows at galleries representing her work. She has also participated in prestigious museum shows such as the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale in Cody, Wyoming since 2010, and Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of the West in Wickenburg, Arizona since 2014.
In 2018, she received the “Governor’s Choice Award” at Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of the West Art Show and Sale in Wickenburg, Arizona. That same year she was an artist in residence at the Brinton Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Recently Jessica has become interested in portraiture, although her primary subject is always color.
