Vickie McMillan-Hayes, a native Texan, creates breathtaking wildlife, landscape, and nature paintings as well as large public installations that advance global conservation causes. Her installations have included public buildings, museums, hospitals, libraries, schools, and other government organizations. As a wildlife conservation artist, McMillan-Hayes is driven to paint accurate wildlife, landscapes, flora, and fauna to gain a better understanding of our responsibility to protect endangered wildlife and their habitats.
Drawing upon her extensive field study and award- winning photography, Vickie’s paintings have a distinct style to accommodate her disability, Essential Tremors. To create detail, she holds her breath while embracing her painting hand in order to achieve the desired stroke.
McMillan-Hayes’s award-winning paintings have been exhibited in both art museums and fine art galleries throughout this country and abroad. Her paintings are included in museum collections, corporate and private collections, including the U.S. Department of State/Art in Embassies collection, and have been published in well-known magazines both locally and internationally.
